Windows 7 Feasibility Study
Windows 7, along with Server 2008, is a key component of the next generation platforms from Microsoft. The new platforms promise a great deal of benefits to organisations and can lead to huge cost savings for IT. There are benefits in terms of improved user productivity, a range of new features and services which enable IT to remove numerous other infrastructure technologies from their environment. This is only the tip of the iceberg with Windows 7 and Server 2008, there are great improvements in collaboration, mobile working, ‘touch’ access and application compatibility.
However, as with every new platform there are a number of key questions that need to be answered before the process is started, they are: Why, What, How and When. Gartner is not alone it encouraging organisations to bypass Vista and go straight for Windows 7 & Server 2008. But, should you as an organisation wait? Is there a benefit in moving early? Will it support other change initiatives? Will it allow costs to be removed? Should it be trialled in a part of the organisation first?
This is where our Feasibility Study comes in. Our fixed price service delivered by our partners C&C Technology will help you answer all of these key questions and more. It is aimed at informing:
- Should you migrate?
- If so, what will the impact/benefit be for you?
- What will be the key issues?
- What will be the return on your investment and when?
- Will moving enable other initiatives for you?
- How do we go about it?
- What are the major phases?
- How long will it take?
- What resources will you need?
- What will it cost?
